I DON'T LIKE THIS ONE BIT

Aziz Poonwalla is a well-known and highly regarding blogger. Sharp, witty and well-informed, Aziz blogs from the perspective of a moderate Muslim, anti-jihadist and anti-mullahcracy. But now he's gone and repeated a blood libel against Israel concerning rumors that it is working on a WMD that can discriminate between Jews and Arabs. Such a project is theoretically possible, but so technically difficult and so beyond the bounds of reason that it amounts to equating Israel with a genocidal state of the last century. It's an awful, terrible thought that shouldn't see the light of day on a "moderate" Muslim--or anyone else's--blog.

That post has spawned a conflagration that's enraged bloggers across the spectrum--it even brought one blogger out of retirement to post comments.

Here's why I don't like this, and why I'm posting this little note: Moderate Muslims, you are in some ways our only hope. We can't run your countries for you. We can, within certain limits, only kick out the madmen oppressing you, killing you and enslaving you. Once we've done that, and helped you back on your feet, it's up to you to keep the Islamists from seizing power and starting up the jihad again. It's up to you to build a culture that respects individual rights, religious rights, the rights of free association and all of the other rights that make up a viable civilization and that therefore don't wage holy wars against the West. We can't do that for you, as much as we'd like to if for no other reason than to keep from repeating 9-11 and the wars that have followed it. We can help, but ending the war is really your responsibility.

If "moderate" Muslims buy into the blood libels against Israel as Aziz' post indicates, our only hope is no hope at all, other than more war, more death, more destruction, until one side defeats the other completely. If that's the case, better your countries get destroyed than ours. It's that simple, and that's how we'll fight. Trust me.

If only all Muslims were more like the Kurds. Then again, the Kurds are seen as infidels as well.

Have you seen http://disaffectedmuslim.blogspot.com

Her experiences with Islam will make your blood run cold. She still has faith in the religion, but she seems very forthcoming on some of the darker sides of the faith. It’s mind boggling how many women, and those in Western Culture at that could race to embrace such a religion that’s so oppressive to women. Where are the feminists expressing their outrage?

Not as a “feminist” but as a PERSON, MommaBear would second that motion. Mistreatment of any PERSON is wrong. The message needs to be delivered again and again in all we do.

“Feminists” and their allies once again reveal their bias against President Bush. If he, of any other Republican, supports an issue, it is guaranteed that the Left will oppose it. I’m afraid that the only way this will change is if the next election replaces many Democrats with Republicans, sending a message to the Left that the American people rejects their flawed reasoning.

Well said, Bryan. I’m very concerned over the Muslim world’s deep-seated antisemitism and lack of self criticism and what all that means for the future.

If we take the “Bush II is illegitimate” folks seriously, Dubya can run again in 2008 even if he wins in 2004.…

I think Bush will win in 2004 decisively as a final vindication for the mess he suffered in 2000. The question is, will the extreme liberals finally recognise his legitimacy as President then? I doubt it.

From a secular viewpoint I do not get this lack of outcry over Islamic brutality and oppression. Why is it ok to condemn Christianity to the point of being irrational, like the artist who paints a portrayal of “Christ” in a cesspool. Yet speak one negative word about Islam and it’s not just the Muslims who go after you, but the mainstream media as well. Incredible. No religion should ever be above criticism, unlike the current mindset of bashing Christianity while all other religions must be unquestioned, as it would negate our freedom of speech.

Of course, the facts are there has only been two regimes that have used
or even contemplated the use of biological weapons. One is Iraq, the
other is Nasser’s Egypt. The project
was directed by ‘retired’ German military like Skorzeny, and Alois Brunner, who did and probably still
resides in Syria. This along with Haj
Husseini (Arafat’s uncle) written proffer of coloboration with Eichmann
& co, on Jewish ‘tranfers’ from
Hungary and Croatia. Of course, according to Abu Mazen’s thesis, this
never happened

This is the place that the Left, especially the Clinton White House, has brought us. All the Left’s PC talk about tolerence was nothing but a ploy to keep our gaurd down until our enemy could become entrenched. It worked. The Left kept us from fighting this cultural war and each of us should be kicking ourselves for allowing them to attain their destructive goals in the name of Political Correctness.

For decades we have sat on our hands as the Saudis and others literally spread anti-Americanism throughout the Muslim world, including to Muslims here in America. They have masterfully carried out their psychological warfare and now are reaping their rewards. Things are up and running and going according to plan and they are now in a very comfortable maintanence phase.

We aren’t going to change that by freeing a few million of them from psychotic dictators. It’s a start, but it isn’t enough to save us. True, we’ve finally started our own pyschological campaign, but we’re decades behind and fighting an up hill battle.
