ANOTHER REASON I'M NOT A DEMOCRAT

From Democrats.com's newsletter, on the eve of July 4th:

On Sunday July 13th please join us for drinks, dinner and discussion at the highly praised French restaurant Lavandou, 3321 Connecticut Avenue, NW, in Washington, which is near the Cleveland Park Metro stop. We will honor the French resistance to the war in Iraq with a selection of French wines starting at 5:00 and have a lively discussion about Internet-enabled political action. Dinner will start around 6:30 and costs just $40 per person, which includes one button and one bumper sticker with our smash hit slogan "Re-Defeat Bush." If you can only attend the reception but cannot stay for dinner the cost is just $15, also including your complimentary button and bumper sticker. Of course, there will be more buttons and bumper stickers on hand to purchase as well as lawn signs with the same slogan. (emphasis mine)

They're calling the celebration "Bastille Day," which is actually on the 14th. I get their notices every day, and have seen nothing about July 4th celebrations. Democrat activists would rather celebrate Bastille Day, the beginning of the awful, bloody, anti-democratic and anti-Christian French Revolution, than Independence Day. I think that says all we need to know about them.

MORE: If you haven't been to their site lately, scoot on over there. They have a banner up depicting President Bush as a leggy, high-stepping drum major marching over the graves at Arlington. Another banner proudly promotes the Bastille Day celebration. There's also a blurb of a story defending Cynthia McKinney (who's still an idiot). Must be seen to be believed.

Oh, this could make some GREAT headlines: “Democrats celebrate beginning of terrorist campaign”.

Terrorcrats once and always. But they aren’t traitors! They aren’t in bed with our enemies! Oh no, we dare not even THINK that!

” We will honor the French resistance”

By using that phrase, they are blatantly DIShonoring the famous “French resistance” of the 1940s, which of course worked AGAINST fascism. That earlier resistance was exceptional; clearly the normal French tendency is to work WITH fascism.

Ah, but now they do have something about the Fourth of July. They are linking to a page about an anti-Bush protest in Philadelphia on the Fourth. Losers.

Jeez Louise.…those people are out there. Maybe its all the tin foil on their hats.

If it is to honor Bastille Day, will they credit de Sade who is said to have sparked the destruction of the Bastille by yelling that murders were being comitted from his cell window. He was removed from the Bastille 12 days before it’s destruction.

Both the Dems and the French are suffering from self inflicted wounds. Honoring de Sade would be the right thing for them to do.

Actually, I think honoring Herr Masoch would be more appropriate…

Make that “Herr Sacher-Masoch.

Also on Democrats.com: “Prevent World War III - Defeat All Republicans”. As long as there were clear disclaimers that one was reading a fiction/parody site, I’d say the democrats.com was very entertaining! They could only be taken seriously as a parody of an actual political organization.

What if … democrats.com was just a parody of the Democratic Party, started by its opponents? If you think about it - even Democrats should be outraged by the garbage they write.

In that case the best part of the joke would be the way Leftgrump bloggers and tr0lls pick up what’s posted on Democrats.com and base their rhetoric on it…

How witty! So we aren’t even supposed to read the headlines? Or - maybe the headlines on democrats.com are meaningless placeholders? Can’t have it both ways - either the banners state your position or they are doublespeak for some other, unknown, statement.

Got another one for you: “Re-Defeat Bush.” If one actually thinks about this one, then the following is a logical outcome: If (according to democrats) Bush was defeated in the last election and still became President, wouldn’t ‘re-defeating’ him be the same as ‘re-electing’ him? Gee - if those democrats.com idea gurus only tried a little logic and not have become so enamored with their own ‘witty’ sound-bites.

Does anybody have any idea what this guy is ranting about?

Uh, nope. I think he’s on our side though.
