ONE OF THE BEST ARGUMENTS FOR HOME SCHOOLING I'VE EVER SEEN

A bunch of guilty white liberals blame 9-11 on America's "racism," pledging in an invitation-only event to begin a campaign to end racism by 2006. Who gets invited? Who doesn't? Why? And why that date? What's so special about 2006? Three years, and these folks say they'll make us all shiny happy people. I can't wait. Whatever. The coalition backing this, um, effort is none too surprising:

A coalition that includes Waukesha School District and Waukesha's YWCA (remember when that used to stand for Young Women's Christian Association?) "and many other groups will spend three years encouraging interaction and understanding between white people and minorities," the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reported today.

So...a public school district has signed on to the notion 9-11 was all our fault. Your tax dollars to teach your kids that the murder of 3,000 of your innocent countrymen was your fault. Thanks for clearing that up, Waukesha! With stellar moral clarity like that, why would anyone want to teach their little rugrats at home?

Just checked the map and Waukesha is on the road to Madison (just outside of Milwaukee), since it sounded like something that would come out of Madison. Like many other things that are sunk deep in the culture, racism will not be eradicated by committee or by good intentions, but by changing hearts one at a time. The way that human nature is, though, I suppose you will always have some type of racism, since it is a natural human response to judge based on appearance.

a) I will be homeschooling my kids, as soon as I deal with that whole marriage and procreation thing.

b) I absolutely love the diversity of my college campus.

Diversity! is fine, so long as it’s real and isn’t shoved down our throats by a bunch of ignorant know-it-alls. Blaming us for an atrocity committed against us is a poor touch.

And Marc, this does sound like a Madison thing, doesn’t it? Berkeley by another name, that town.

Off topic here, sorry. I’m just responding to the racism comments. Racism: “Discrimination or prejudice based on race.” So says the dictionary. Here’s another word that’s been redefined so that it only flows one way. When a black person loses out to a white person because of skin color it’s racism. When a white person loses out to a black person because of skin color it’s affirmative action. The NAACP is fine. So is the American Negro College Fund. What about the NAAWP or the American White College Fund? Sure has a scary sound to it, doesn’t it…?

Waukesha is a wealthy bedroom suburb of both Milwaukee and Madison. I’ve been there — I nearly bought a house there. Think: Scarsdale NY or Redonda Beach CA.

Country-club liberals.

Ugh.
