REGIME CHANGE COMING DOWN?

China has apparently moved some troops up to its North Korean border. No explanation given, which is hardly unusual.

I doubt it's anything more than an exercise or possibly a force demonstration designed to put a wee bit of pressure on Kim. It might be a reaction to the Proliferation Security Inititiative, who knows?

But it's interesting.

Are you sure they’re not there to re-inforce Kim and intimidate us?

Remember China’s role the last time we went to the mat against Korea.

That’s certainly possible, though China has warned Kim that they won’t have his back in a second Korean war. They’ve even studied the possibility of taking him out on their own.

They’re inscrutable, those ChiComs.

there’s a good posiblity they dont want him ruining thier new found economic prosperity thats filling the government coffers to the brim with cash, hey lets face it ideologic freindship between countries can be trumped by good old fashioned greed and looking out for number one.

dont take that to mean china wouldnt try to take us down a peg if they thought they could get away with it scott free but probably not if the cost was going to dent thier personal wealth and stability, remember they have moved quite a distance from a command economy, unlike thier “nutty cousin” living in the basement north korea
