MUHAMMAD WAS A TERRORIST, PART III

Sorry for the lack of posts lately. I've been battling a wicked cold. I know, I know--cry me a river.

Anyhow, ever since the arrest of John Muhammad and his sidekick Lee Malvo, I've been one of the few crazy enough to insist that religion is a factor in their sniping spree of October 2002. Alex of the 12th Man has put together a very compelling post on the subject, which you should read now.

Now, once you've read it, also consider this: Malvo's letters refer to a number of motivations that justify, in his and Muhammad's minds, the killings. Among them, slavery and a "continued genocide" against blacks. Those letters were addressed to the Montgomery County police, which continued to insist well into the investigation that they were seeking two white men in a white van.

How likely is it that two white guys would cite slavery and some mythical genocide against blacks to justify a crime spree? Not very. But that's what the police, mainly through Chief Charles Moose, kept telling the public.

Now, there may have been good reasons for this. It's possible that Moose et al didn't want to somehow jeopardize the search by tipping the killers that the police were well on their trail. It may be that the police feared an escalation of attacks at area schools--a fear proved valid when a list of schools turned up in the snipers' car. But--they misled the public, whether from noble intent or not. They told us they were looking for a certain profile, when in fact they had much evidence that pointed away from that profile and toward another.

We need to know why.

Bryan, thanks for the link back. This is an important story that isn’t getting anywhere close to enough big media attention.

One thing, the “early release” version I emailed you yesterday may not have contained an important detail; these sketches were made while Malvo was in police custody.

The content of these sketches done in prison are similar to ones found before the killers were apprehended, I wonder at what point the obvious racial clues came to the attention of the authorities?

Scary indeed. One thing that strikes me from this set of pictures is that Malvo is talented and well-educated. His spelling and grammar are better than 98% of the people who write on the Internet. A wise profiler would have instantly figured out that the writer was young, black, Islamic, and paranoid, but would have been puzzled by the education. Very few American youngsters, especially black ones, have learned spelling and grammar; the wise profiler might guess that this artist/author was either privately educated or taught in a British system.

IMO Chief Moose is a jackass. Him and his “civil rights attorney” wife have extorted money from Marriot and just plain stupid in running the investigation.

Open your eyes to the life you living are you satisfied with the life you living Rise! Kill the “Crusader Zionist Alliance and their house negroes.”
I found his grammar and punctuation to be quite flawed. “Are you satisfied with the life you living” is particularly Ebonic.

It’s also from Exodous by Bob Marley.

>They told us they were looking for a certain profile, when in fact they had much evidence that pointed away from that profile and toward another.

One of the huge problems in any investigation is figuring out which evidence is real evidence, and which is not. Hindsight is always 20-20 — but you can’t necessarily tell from the front end whether or not Letter X is from the real criminal, or just someone who’s pretending to be.…

Sure, you have the evidence that points to the real criminals, but you also have a lot of other stuff pointing in other directions, and you don’t know which is which at the beginning.
