Sandy the Bergler got slapped with a $50k fine for pilfering classified documents and destroying them. He also has to stay clear of classified material for three years. Then he can resume shredding incriminating evidence he missed the first time.

Sandy ‘Burglar’ is getting off way too easy.
I held a TS clearance, much lower rating than Sandy held at his position in government. In the late 80’s, the penalties for intentional disclosure of classified material was up to $50k, AND 10 years in Leavenworth Federal Penitentiary.
I’m sure intentional removal from a secure facility, and subsequent loss of classified material carries an equivalent penalty, at least for us plebes.
His sentance is a travesty of justice.
I’m sure glad he loses his security clearance for 3 years. Its a severe punishment. That means he will not be able to be involved with any highly classified material for the rest of Bush’s term, he’ll have to wait until a Dem is elected in ‘08. Man, that’s tough.
