More on the Bum Rush
In this post about a new insurgent tactic of massed attacks on isolated outposts, I mentioned a recent attack in Mosul on May 16th, involving 200 insurgents all attacking at once.
Today Confederate Yankee has more about the attack in Mosul, which sounds like it tracks very closely to the plan the Sunni bad guys used on the isolated American outpost in Tarmiyah: i.e. a truck bomb (in this case two) through the gates and then swarm in on the outnumbered troops. Fortunately the Iraqi police were well-trained and able to hold them off without taking casualties.
It seems the Bum Rush hasn't won any battles for Al Qaeda yet, but it also hasn't backfired on the insurgents as badly as it could.
